Out and About

This part of the Turkish coastline is known as the Turkish Riviera or Turquoise coast and stretches from Fethiye in the west right through to the Syrian coastline in the east.

Summer temperatures average 30 -45C.

Cailis is only about a 50 minute transfer from the main Dalaman airport. With places like Fethyie,Hisaronu and Oludeniz all within easy reach, and loads more by jumping on a boat, there is always somewhere and something to do if you want.Be sure you go to one of the local Turkish markets, for their nearly genuine products have fun and barter for anything. For the sporty people there is paragliding in Oludeniz,as well and the usual water sports like wind surfing ,scuba diving, jet skiing etc at other beaches.

Places to see and things to do.

       Fethiye Tuesday market.

Be sure you go to the market , for their nearly genuine products, have fun and barter for anything, you would like to buy.Have a really great time. You can also get some really lovely fresh vegetables and fruit and lot's of spices.

Calis Beach Sunday market.

The market is a great attraction for the tourist and the locals alike. The all day undercover market in Calis is every Sunday. The market sells a range of goods, including fruit, vegetables, spices, clothes, shoes, bedding, and towelling. There are many bargains to be found on the stalls.

Many boat trips can be found around Fethiye   Harbour.

This is the way to relax and take in the delights of the Turkish coastline and islands.  Under the heat of the summer sun where better place to be than at sea. The boats moor as often as possible so that you can disembark & explore the ruins found on many of Fethiye's bays & islands. Swim, top up that tan or play in the water. Ladders from the boat's provide easy access into and from the sea, for those of us not courageous enough to dive in!

Pamukkale

A natural world wonder of the world.

Pamukkale, known as the "Cotton Castle" which is truly a natural wounder and is  formed thermal springs containing salts which have created stalagtites and natural pools, through it is no longer permitted to swim in the actual pools,a nearby pool of the thermal water is a welcome stop and will soothe your aching limbs.

Mud Baths fun for all. ( We, your hosts, should know!) River boat to mud baths.

Here you have a chance to pamper  yourself in the mud and sulphur pools, and you should feel the wrinkles disappearing !

The Water Park  in Calis, is one for the big and small kids,a good famliy day out. www.sultansaquacity.com

 Olu Deniz   http://www.skysports-turkey.com/

 We had a lovely day.

The Blue Lagoon of Olu Deniz has calm, crystal clear waters, which make it ideal for a variety of water sports and a very safe place for children to swim. Part of the lagoon is now a protected area (and it's a national park). It really is " Paradise Bay". You can easy go there from Fethiye just jump on the Dolmus and have a great day out.
