 Saklikent gorge is a 20km-long canyon that is a㺲 minute drive east of Fethiye. It is a lovely place to come and while away your time, and for those with a more active frame of mind, it's an excellent place to indulge in outdoor pursuits including canoeing,hiking or rafting. You can easily get to Saklikent Gorge by car or local dolmus.

Restaurants,decked out with Turkish rugs,comfy cushions and shaded by fig trees,serve freshly caught trout for lunch or supper with beer, soft drinks or melon, cooled by the ice-cold waters off the mountains. Have a paddle in the waters and see how long you can stand in it with the ice cold water around your feet.

There are also pleasant walking trails through the mountains on either side of the gorge and tree houses that offer an unusual place to rest your weary feet.
